More Awards for Mexico and Latin America’s Best Golf Course: TPC Danzante Bay
Not just one, but two World Golf Awards have been bestowed upon TPC Danzante Bay: Mexico’s Best Golf Course 2019 and Latin America’s Best Golf Course 2019. These prestigious accolades continue a string of international awards for this stellar Rees Jones-designed course, which began earlier this year when Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa at the Islands of Loreto took home three World Travel Awards for Mexico and Central America’s Leading Resort, Mexico and Central America’s Leading Family Resort, and Mexico’s Leading Beach Resort.
With amazing views of the mountains and waters surrounding Loreto, Mexico, TPC Danzante Bay is one of only a few courses in Loreto. Accolades and worldwide acclaim have been received since the golf course opened in 2017, including most recently designation as one of the Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America (2019-20) from GOLF Magazine. Golf Digest, Golf Channel’s Golf Advisor and Golf Aficionado have all praised this Loreto Bay Mexico golf course.
Each hole, with its five sets of tees, measuring from 4,916 to 7,237 yards on this par-72 beauty, are defined by the water, valleys, arroyos, dunes, and foothills. The golf course features wide fairways and greens that must be carefully judged but are never unfair. Most of the entrances to the greens are open—allowing approach shots to run on safely—while the holes along the cliffs feature strategically placed collection areas to keep errant shots from taking the plunge into the blue water below.
TPC Danzante Bay is the centerpiece of a luxury master-planned resort community adjacent to the coastline of Baja’s inland marine sanctuary. The resort sits on a sprawling stretch of white-sand beach along Danzante Bay, where the natural habitat includes 900 species of fish. Guests can enjoy world-class sport fishing, swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, and whale watching. In addition to championship golf and the luxurious Sabila Spa, the resort features six swimming pools, tennis courts, miles of well-marked hiking trails, and kayaks.
