Distractions – Nature’s Wonders Along Danzante Bay’s 18 Holes
The TPC Danzante Bay golf course isn’t just a technically challenging Loreto golf course designed by Rees Jones–it’s a breathtaking look into the heart of the natural landscape of Mexico. Whether it’s your first time playing at the Loreto golf resort or you’ve taken multiple golf vacations here, it’s easy to get distracted by the surrounding beauty that makes this one of the best golf courses in Mexico. As you play through the course at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, take in the views of the nature’s wonders along Danzante Bay’s 18 holes.
While the fifth hole of the Loreto golf course is full of challenges and bunkers that will require your full attention on each shot, it reverses direction and leads towards your first view of the Sea of Cortez near Villa del Palmar Loreto. After playing through the par 5 hole, you’ll be ready to soak in the rewarding views on your golf vacations. The sixth hole heads up the mountains into a canyon full of distractingly beautiful scenery to enjoy. The seventh leads up the canyon, and while you’ll need to avoid the arroyo on the left, the green is spacious with options for how to play. Before you leave the canyon, hole 8 will challenge you to drive long to the sloping green guarded by bunkers. Whether you make par or not, the green returns you to a view of the blue ocean by Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto.
The challenges of the TPC Danzante Bay golf course continue on the 9th hole, which though it is a spectacular drop-shot, the slopes and bunkers around the green make hitting it vital. The main distraction here is a bird’s-eye view of the course and the Villa del Palmar Loreto clubhouse from the tee. After this hole, the course brings you to an oasis beside a lake for holes 10 and 11. The refreshing view of the water makes this a great point halfway through your game at one of the best golf courses in Mexico, a spot to stop and soak in the scenery, but don’t stop here because the next hole leads to the beach near the Loreto golf resort. Sandy dunes create barriers on the side and subtle contours on the fairway which challenge incoming shots.
The backdrop of hole 13 is the beach of Loreto Mexico and the stunning Sea of Cortez, making it an unforgettable spot. On a cliff rising above the ocean, you’ll tee off for hole 14 into a sweeping view of the mountains, and holes 15 and 16 lead you back up, and as you look at the scenery here, you can tell you’re approaching an incredible view at the top of the cliffs. When you arrive at hole 17, you’ll be 250ft above the Sea of Cortez which wraps around you. This is the jewel of the course, attracting people to the Loreto golf resort for golf vacations from around the world. If you can take your eyes off this panoramic view, you’ll find a sharp downhill drive. Finally, an epic 18th hole holds some of the most phenomenal views of the ocean.
